There and Back again- Saints Return to Danville Tomorrow!

Saints Return to Danville

As I stated in my last email, the key to prison ministry is flexibility!  We had July 25th on the calendar reserved for a potential visit but nothing had opened up as of the middle of last week. With all signs pointing towards a cancellation and a day of honey do chores, our Regional Director contacted me with the news that Danville had invited us back again in hopes that we could play some softball!

This is our first time as a team visiting the same facility twice in a year.  It will be interesting to follow up with those who have made professions last month and with those who we have built relationships with.

Please keep Darrell Pine and myself in prayer as we will be sharing the Gospel and for Jeremy Test and Robert Cook as their share their personal testimonies!

Central Illinois Saints

  • Our trip to Danville in June was great!  We played two wiffle ball games and 9 dodgeball games in the prison gym and saw 13 men make professions of faith.  We also were able to hand out 145 Gospels.
  • I am thankful for the group of Missionary Athletes God has supplied to this team.  It takes a special kind of person to want to reach the incarcerated for Christ but I am thankful for the “Whatever it Takes” attitude on this team when we are on the field or sharing the Gospel.
  • I am thankful for all of the encouragement and support from my family.  Kelly and the kids have been praying for this visit and they are excited!
  • I am very thankful for the support of friends and family this year!
  • I am thankful that while this has been a tough year in terms of scheduling, the Saints office has been working hard and going the extra mile to make contact with area prisons in hopes of getting us in!
  • Congratulations to Missionary Ahtlete, Bryson Stewart and his wife Morgan on the birth of their daughter Malayah!  She was born Wednesday evening and is a healthy 9 lb 4 oz baby girl!
Prayer Requests
  • Please pray for our upcoming visit to Danville!
    • Pray for the salvation of the inmates
    • Pray for safety as we travel
    • Pray for the safety of our families at home
    • Pray for the speakers who will be sharing the Gospel
    • Pray for the endurance of the Missionary Athletes. We are missing a few guys with family commitments and will need all the energy we can get!
  • Please pray that more Illinois and Midwest prisons will open their doors and allow us to come in and share our ministry
  • Please pray for a former inmate named Keith.  He needs prayer for continued growth and for his transition back into a life outside of prison.  Pray that he gets a good community of Christian friends
