Saints at Danville

We are excited to visit Danville for the 3rd time in the last 4 years!  This year’s visit will be a little bit different as we will be staying for an entire day.  In previous years we have played two games and went home.  This year we will play 4 games and preach twice before heading back to Peoria.  The reason for the two extra games is that close to 400 men have signed up for the yard time when we are scheduled to be there!

Danville is perhaps our favorite stop on the schedule.  They traditionally make it a fun day but having a public address system set up so they can announce the game and play music between innings.  They also typically have an inmate play or sing the National Anthem before the game.

Please keep Brent Gerber and Tyler Morrow as they will be sharing the Gospel and for Bryson Stewart and Ray “Papa” Koonce as their share their personal testimonies!

Central Illinois Saints
  • Our trip to FCI Greenville in May was awesome!  We played two rain soaked games in the mud and saw 3 men make professions of faith.  We also were able to hand out 47 Gospels.
  • I am thankful for the group of Missionary Athletes God has supplied to this team.  It takes a special kind of person to want to reach the incarcerated for Christ but I am thankful for the “Whatever it Takes” attitude on this team when we are on the field or sharing the Gospel.
  • I am thankful for all of the encouragement and support from my family.  Kelly is without a doubt the most awesome “Missionary Athlete’s” wife.  She went right to work after our Greenville visit last month and got the mud stains out of my white pinstripe pants!  She has been behind our ministry here since day one and has been a constant source of encouragement and support.
  • I am still floored how God has shared a team of supporters this year (both prayer and financial).  God has supplied some wonderful men and women who will be praying for our team this weekend!
Prayer Requests
  • Please pray for our upcoming visit to Danville!
    • Pray for the salvation of the inmates
    • Pray for safety as we travel
    • Pray for the safety of our families at home
    • Pray for the speakers who will be sharing the Gospel
  • Please pray that more Illinois and Midwest prisons will open their doors and allow us to come in and share our ministry
  • Please pray for a former inmate named Keith.  He needs prayer for continued growth and for his transition back into a life outside of prison.
