Saints Open Season at FCI Greenville in One Month!
2015 was probably my best goal year ever! I read the Bible cover to cover, I read/listened to 40 different books, and I even kept up with most of my running goals.
So far in 2016 I am off to a slow start. I made decisions to lose weight, run, and blog more often. Those were great goals to have but they don’t mean anything unless I actually follow through and execute them!
There is a very good chance we will meet several men this summer that may have decided to follow Jesus but never actually did.
The Bible tells us in 1 John 2:4-
“Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar,
and the truth is not in that person.
Jesus tells us several times that a life of discipleship is not easy! In Luke 9:23 he tells us
“Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves
and take up their cross and follow me.”
This is the message that is very heavy on my heart as I prepare for the 2016 Saints Prison Ministry season. Our goal isn’t necessarily to win softball games hang out but rather to communicate the Gospel clearly and help share the Good news about Jesus Christ with the prison yard!
I am looking forward to making our 5th trip to FCI Greenville one month from today(5/21/16)!
Greenville has been a special place over the years. We played our first game ever as a team at there in 2012. We have broken ribs, played softball in the mud, trash talked, cried on shoulders, and seen God do incredible things on their prison yard.
Please start praying specifically for this visit as our summer season is approaching!
Please keep the following in prayer:
1. Pray for revival at Greenville. We have seen these men several times over the last five years. Please pray for repentance for those who don’t know Jesus and pray for encouragement for those who are already saved. Pray for those who made decisions in the past and that they will be “All In” on following Christ!
2. Pray for open doors for ministering. Last year we had to do all of ministry time inside of the chapel. Please pray that God allows for us to share the Gospel on the field with most of the prison population!
3. Pray for our speakers on this trip. Ben Morrow and Robert Cook will be sharing the Gospel. They are both great preachers and I am looking forward to what God does through both of them! Jeremy Test and Ray “Papa” Koonce will be sharing their stories about how they came to know Jesus.
Thank you again for your support! I am blessed to be part of this ministry and I can’t wait until next month!
