Central Illinois Saints Open their Season Tomorrow

Opening Day in Vandalia!

Dear Friends and Family,

Tomorrow morning, my Saints teammates are leaving for Vandalia Correctional Center to share the Gospel and play some softball for the first time this year.   I would very much appreciate the prayer support for myself and the other men who will be on the trip. This is our first trip ever to Vandalia and we not only want to make a great first impression but we want to communicate the Gospel clearly.

Here are a few specific prayer requests for our team tomorrow:

  • Please pray that hearts will be softened and that the Gospel goes out clearly to the men at Vandalia!  Keep Jeremy Test and Robert Cook in prayer as Jeremy shares his testimony and Robert shares the Gospel in the morning session.  Please keep Ray Koonce and Darrell Pine in prayer as Ray shares his testimony and Darrell shares the Gospel in the afternoon session.
  • Please pray that we are competitive in both games.  This is our first game of the year but we really need to be competitive and earn the respect of the inmates.  When we earn their respect, they are more likely to be attentive to what we have to say when we share the Gospel.
  • Pray for traveling mercies and logistics.  We have to leave at 4 am tomorrow and won’t have much wiggle room to stop or be late.  Our prayer isn’t necessarily that we will be comfortable but rather that the Gospel will go out and God is glorified regardless of whatever it takes!

Thank you again for your support and I am looking forward to updating everyone on how the day went!
