Quick update!

Thank you to all who have been praying during the early stages of the Central Illinois Saints!  It’s been an exciting last few weeks preparing for our first prison games in Taylorville Correctional Center July 14-15.  Our team has sent out support letters the last few weeks as we seek to raise financial and prayer support.  If you did not receive a support letter from me and wish to get one, send me an email to tgibson62@gmail.com.   If you would like letters from other members of the team let me know as well!

To prepare for the competition in prison, our team is playing Sunday afternoons in the Peoria Church Softball league.  We won Sunday afternoon thanks to a couple of huge home runs by Kurt Hand and Jeremy Test.  Our defense also looked very sharp as well.

I love the makeup of our team.  We have guys in their mid twenties as well as some 50 year olds and several guys in between.  Everyone on the team understands their purpose that they are a missionary first and that softball comes second.  It’s been exciting to hear the guys stories about how they are excited to minister to men in prison and how they are excited to use softball to do so!

Prayer requests:

Please pray for the men that we will be talking to in Taylorville.  Pray that God is already preparing their hearts to hear the gospel.

Please pray for our guys as they raise prayer and financial support.

Please pray for our guys as they prepare to minister to the men in Taylorville.  This is the first time going to prison for several of our guys!

Please pray for the maintained health of our guys!  Corky Schumacher tweeked his calf muscles last Sunday.  We need him upright and mobile to minister in July!

Until next time….Go Saints Go!!
